Xiaomi mobiles launched its Redmi 4 smartphone at an event in China. The company has also launched Redmi 4 Prime and Redmi 4A smartphones alongside the Redmi 4. Xiaomi has priced the Redmi 4 at CNY 699 (roughly Rs 6,900), Redmi 4 Prime aka Redmi 4 Pro Edition at CNY 899 (roughly Rs 8,900), and Redmi 4A smartphone at price of CNY 499 (roughly Rs 4,900). The latest mobiles will go on sale from November 11.
The Xiaomi Redmi 4 & Redmi 4 Prime features identical metal unibody design along with 2.5D curved glass display, the dedicated fingerprint sensor on the rear panel, and hybrid dual-SIM slot, but have some significant differences in display resolution, processor, RAM, and internal storage. Both the smartphones run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS with MIUI 8 on top.
The Redmi 4 sports a 5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) display. The device is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor clocked at 1.4GHz paired with 2GB of RAM, 16GB internal storage, and Adreno 505 GPU. The latest mobile offers a 13MP primary rear camera with the 5-len system, f/2.2 aperture, dual LED flash, and PDAF. On the front panel, it has a 5MP camera for selfies.
For connectivity, the Xiaomi Redmi 4 offers 4G LTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and GPS. The device receives juice from a 4100mAh battery with fast charging support. Sensors on board include an accelerometer, infrared, proximity, ambient light, and gyroscope.
On the other hand, Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime features a full HD (1080×1920 pixels) display powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor paired with 3GB of RAM, 32GB of built-in storage, and Adreno 506 GPU. Besides, all the other specifications of Redmi 4 Prime matches with the Redmi 4 smartphone.
Lastly, the Xiaomi Redmi 4A smartphone is a budget mobile in the series featuring a 5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) display. The latest mobile is equipped with a 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 chipset coupled with 2GB of RAM and Adreno 308 GPU.
On the camera front, the Redmi 4A offers a 13MP primary rear camera with 5-lens system, PDAF, and f/2.2 aperture, while the front camera comes with a 5MP sensor. The 4G VOLTE smartphone offers 16GB of internal storage. Connectivity options on the device comprise GPS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. The sensors on board include ambient light, infrared, gyroscope, accelerometer, and proximity. The handset is powered by a 3120mAh battery.
