Xiaomi India has recently launched a new smartphone in the low-cost, budget mobile space called as the Xiaomi Redmi 4A which costs Rs 5,999. The new Xiaomi mobile will be available in Dark Grey, Rose Gold, and Gold colour option.
The Xiaomi Redmi 4A will be made available for purchase on Mi.com and Amazon India starting from Thursday, March 23 in Dark Grey and Gold colour option. The Rose Gold variant of Redmi 4A will be available from April 6 on Mi.com and the smartphone will not be sold via offline channels.
Coming to the specifications, the Xiaomi Redmi 4A features a 5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) display and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS wrapped under MIUI 8 skin. It features a polycarbonate body. The device is equipped with a 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 quad-core processor paired with Adreno 308 GPU, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage.
For photography, the Xiaomi Redmi 4A offers a 13MP primary rear camera with a 5-lens system, PDAF, LED flash, and PDAF features. Up front, there is a 5MP camera with f/2.2 aperture. The smartphone offers 16GB of built-in storage along with up to 128GB of external storage via microSD card.
The connectivity options on Xiaomi Redmi 4A include 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and GPS/A-GPS. The sensors on board include accelerometer, gyroscope, infrared, proximity, and ambient light sensor. The handset measures dimensions at 139.5×70.4×8.5mm and weighs 131.5 grams. It boasts a 3120mAh battery with fast charging technology.
Xiaomi claimed during the launch event of Redmi 4A that it was the largest smartphone brand in India in terms of online sales. Furthermore, the brand has 30 percent share in the market. The company also mentioned here that it has going ahead with its second manufacturing plant in the country which is owned and operated by Foxconn. The second plant is located in Sricity and it will have the production capacity of one smartphone per minute.
To recall, the Xiaomi Redmi 4A was launched last year in November in China along with the Xiaomi Redmi 4 and Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime smartphone. The Redmi 4A is the entry-level smartphone in the Redmi 4 series.
