Motorola recently launched the Moto G5 and the Moto G5 Plus in India and now they are working on a new set of phones for the budget segment namely the Moto C and the Moto C Plus. The phone is set to launch in India somewhere in June.
There is no official confirmation from Lenovo about the launch or the specifications of the phone but it is expected to launch in June and it is set to compete against the Redmi 4A which is a budget device. The Redmi 4A is priced at Rs. 5,999, so we expect the Moto C to be priced in a similar price bracket under Rs. 9,000.
By the leaks we have thus far, we can say that the Moto C and the C Plus will have 2 new colour options namely grey and red along with the usual gold and silver. If the renders are to be believed there may be 2 variants namely the Moto C and the Moto C Plus. The Moto C will be a basic budget Smartphone. And, the Moto C plus could possibly be in the mid-end budget segment competing with Redmi 3s.

Features & Design
Both the smartphones come in a metal-clad body with a common design with the main difference being the heft and the slimness of the phone. Upfront there are 3 capacitive buttons possibly backlit. However, there is no confirmation yet, the front also houses a LED flash for selfies.
On the rear, there is a camera module with LED flash in a circular design somewhat mimicking the Moto g5 plus’s design. The right houses the usual power button along with volume buttons. One thing which is unclear yet is whether both the phones will have a fingerprint sensor or not as all the renders are seen without a fingerprint sensor.
Moto C: Specifications
As far as the specifications are concerned the Moto C is expected to come in 2 variants a 3G only variant and another higher priced 4G variant. It will have a 5-inch FWVGA (480×854) display up front. What will power the phone is still disputed. Some rumour suggests that it will be powered by the Snapdragon 430 along with 1 GB of RAM. While other reports suggest that the 3G variant will run a 32-bit quad-core chipset clocked at 1.1 GHz. And, the 4G variant will have a 64-bit quad-core chipset of unknown make. The phone will have 8 GB of internal storage on the 3G variant and 16 GB of storage on the 4G variant.
Moto C will have a big 2,300 mAh battery to power the device. It is believed that the chipset inside the Moto C would be the MediaTek MT6737m. A 5MP rear shooter would be present for the shutterbugs. On the othe hand, a 2MP selfie camera would be used for video calling.

Moto C Plus: Specifications
Moto C Plus the premium offering, on the other hand, will come with the same 5 inch HD (720p) display, 2 GB of RAM and probably a 64-bit Mediatek chipset under the hood. There will be 16 GB of onboard storage and a massive 4,000 mAh battery to power the device. The camera on the C plus would get an upgrade to 8 MP on the rear. But, sadly there won’t be the same 2 MP on the front.
Both the phones are said to run Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. The standard features like Bluetooth 4.2, GPS etc will also be present on the device. Both the devices have a speaker placed at the rear of the device. The exact official specifications will be revealed later and there is no confirmation from the company yet.
The Moto C range is expected to be more budget oriented than the Moto E series and would be priced aggressively especially in the key markets like India.
