Vivo has recently come up with a new selfie focussed smartphone in India called as the Vivo V5 Plus. The company previously had its Vivo V5 in the market. Also, the company has released a limited ‘Vivo V5 Plus IPL Edition‘ smartphone a couple of weeks ago, which is available in Black colour. Now, Vivo is believed to be launching a new smartphone under its V5 series dubbed as the Vivo V5s in the Indian market. The phone is said to be unveiled on April 27.
Citing the sources, the Vivo V5s is firstly leaked by PhoneRadar via an exclusive report. The existing Vivo V5 Plus features a 20MP + 8MP front camera with the wide-angle view for capturing of high-quality selfies. The smartphone comes only in Gold colour option, whereas the Vivo V5s is claimed to be offered in Black colour.
Vivo V5s: Specifications
The Vivo V5s seems to inherit the similar design and hardware as the existing Vivo V5 smartphone. It is expected to feature a 25D curved glass on the display and a metal unibody design. The device will likely to offer a 5.5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) display and it will come equipped with an octa-core processor, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage. The Vivo V5s is said to have a dedicated microSD card slot which was missing in Vivo V5. The handset will support up to 128GB via microSD card slot.

The Vivo V5s will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS based on FunTouch OS 2.6. The handset will be powered by a 3000mAh battery which will be similar to the Vivo V5. The front panel of the device will have a fingerprint scanner embedded in the home button.
Similar to the Vivo V5, the Vivo V5s is also expected to offer a 20MP Sony IMX376 sensor and a secondary 8MP sensor on the front with LED flash and f/2.0 aperture. On the rear, there will be a 13MP primary camera with f/2.2 aperture and PDAF. The device will measure dimensions at 153.8×75.5×7.55mm and will weigh 154 grams.
Lastly, it is a dual-SIM mobile with a dedicated microSD card slot and not the hybrid configuration. That means the device will have dual SIM slots with 4G VoLTE support and additional microSD card slot.
Since there is no official announcement from Vivo about the upcoming mobile as of now, we suggest taking this information with a pinch of salt. We will update you when the confirmed details about the Vivo V5s will receive.
The Vivo V5s will be an interesting option if it made its way to the Indian market. The Vivo V5 is now available in the market in a price range of Rs 15,000 to Rs 16,000 and the Vivo V5 Plus has launched for a price of Rs 25,990. So, considering the similarity of the specifications and the changes, the Vivo V5s could be priced around Rs 20,000 in India.
