Our Smartphones are growing bigger and bigger with every passing day and that has eliminated the need for a dedicated device for media consumption. But some people still prefer a tablet over a normal phone. With declining sales and thinning user base tablets are seem to die. Some people still prefer a large screen device. Let us find out today which is the best tablet you can buy for you money in India right now.
Micromax Canvas Tab P290
The Canvas Tab P290 is a no fuss tablet with extremely basic hardware and software powering it. It is also the most affordable tablet on our list, priced at just Rs. 4,299 but often available for as low as Rs. 3,199. It is the best value for money tablet we could find.
The tablet has a 7-inch WSVGA (1024px600p) display which is nothing to boast about. Under the hood, it is powered by a 1.3 GHz Quad-Core Mediatek chipset coupled with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. A 2820mAh battery keeps the device ticking which the company claims to be enough for 3 hours of HD video playback, this although less is good enough for the price. On the software front, it runs Android 5.0 Lollipop with no possibility of it ever being upgraded.
Pros – Budget oriented, big display
Cons – Weak battery
Who should buy it? – Anyone looking to browse the web on a big screen device or read eBooks

While the Mi Max Prime may not arguably be what people call a tablet, it has a huge display, which makes us consider it as one. The Mi Max has a 6.44-inch display up top with 2.5D curved glass and Full HD (1080p) resolution.
With a display that big, the Mi Max can easily be used as a tablet and if a user is willing to use a big phone like the Mi Max the need for a tablet is eliminated. It runs on the Snapdragon 652 Octa-core chipset and has a huge 4850mAh battery, which easily lasts a whole day and then some. There is 4GB of RAM along with 128GB of internal storage, which would be more than enough for any kind of media storage. It also supports dual Sim cards and 4G so you can connect to the internet at any time. It runs Android 6.0 wrapped under MIUI.

Cons – Comparatively smaller display
Who should buy it? – Anyone looking for a dual-purpose device to serve as a phone cum tablet

IPads are mostly aimed at business users who want to work on the go but do not want the hassle of carrying a full sized laptop. The iPad has a 9.7 inch (2048 x 1536p) display with Oleophobic coating. It is powered by Apple’s own A9 chipset and comes with 2GB of RAM along with either 32GB or 128GB of internal memory, which sadly is not expandable.
