Samsung has recently unveiled the top-end model of its latest flagship smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus in India. The newly launched smartphone has 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It will be made available for purchase at a price of Rs 74,990 from June 9, across the country. Furthermore, the smartphone will be offered in Midnight Black colour. The device will be up for pre-booking from June 2, on Samsung Shop and Flipkart. Samsung is bundling wireless charger as a freebie for those availing the introductory offer.
To recall, the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus smartphones were first introduced in India in April. The sale of these smartphones began last month. The prices of Galaxy S8 started at Rs 57,900, whereas the Galaxy S8+ prices start at Rs 64,900. Only the base models of the latest mobiles were available in the Indian market as of now. Interestingly, the company has now released a new variant with bumped up RAM and storage specifications. The handset has Exynos 8895 octa-core processor for acceleration.
Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus Specification
Coming to the specifications, the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ comes with a 5.8 and 6.2-inch QHD (1440×2960 pixels) Super AMOLED display along with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Previously, the base model of the smartphone included 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage with support for external storage up to 256GB via microSD card. Both the smartphones features an Infinity Display keeping an 18:5:9 aspect ratio and a dual-edge curved display.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ offers 12MP ‘Dual Pixel’ primary rear camera with f/1.7 aperture and optical image stabilisation. Up front, there is an 8MP selfie shooter with f/1.7 aperture and autofocus. The devices have a hybrid dual-SIM configuration. The Samsung Galaxy S8 packs a 3000mAh battery, while the Galaxy S8+ offers a 3500mAh battery.
The connectivity options on both smartphones include 4G LTE, Bluetooth v5.0, USB Type-C, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, and GPS. The sensors on board include barometer, accelerometer, heart rate sensor, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, proximity, and magnetometer. The additional connectivity option includes NFC, Samsung Pay, and MST connectivity. Both handsets have IRIS scanner, facial recognition, and fingerprint scanner.
In addition, the handsets boast the Bixby virtual assistant. Also, an IP68 certification is present on both devices to ensure resistance against the dust and water.
