Panasonic has introduced three new devices to its Toughpad line-up called as Toughpad FZ-F1, FZ-N1, and FZ-A2 in India. The Toughpad FZ-N1 is an Android smartphone which has integrated 1D/2D barcode reader for a price of Rs 99,000 + tax, whereas the Toughpad FZ-F1 runs on Windows 10 IoT Mobile Enterprise edition with integrated 1D/2D barcode reader for a price of Rs 1.09 lakh + tax. On the other hand, the Toughpad FZ-A2 is a tablet with a price tag of Rs 1.20 lakh + tax.
The devices were unveiled last year during the Mobile World Congress 2016 event. The Toughpad FZ-F1 and FZ-N1 offers a barcode reader which scans items and it has dedicated barcode reader activation buttons on either sides. The handsets also allow users to use the touch screen having gloves, multi-touch, bright display even in direct sunlight conditions, and has a rain sensing mode which operates accurately even in stormy weather.
In addition, the company claims that the Toughpad FZ-F1 and FZ-N1 could survive drops as it has passed the drop test of 6 feet. Further, these have gone through torturous fall down test and endured 2000 successive 3.3 feet drops. The handsets also feature IP65 and IP67 certification which ensures waterproof and shockproof properties.
Coming to the specifications, the Toughpad FZ-Z1 and FZ-N1 come with almost same specifications except the operating systems. The smartphones offer 4.7-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) display. It comes equipped with a 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core processor paired with Adreno 330 GPU, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, and up to 64GB of expandable storage via microSD card. It offers an 8MP primary rear camera and a 5MP front facing camera for selfies and video calls. It draws power from a 3200mAh battery which can be swapped with optional 6000mAh long-life battery. The connectivity option on the device includes 4G LTE, Dual-SIM, Wi-FI, NFC, micro USB port, GPS, and Bluetooth.
Meanwhile, the Panasonic Toughpad FZ-A2 is a rugged tablet with fanless design. The tablet runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS and features Enterprise Security from Android for work. It sports a 10.1-inch display powered by an Intel AtomTM x5-Z8550 quad-core processor paired with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of eMMC storage.
