BlackBerry finally took the wraps off the phone formerly known as Argon which is now officially the BlackBerry DTEK60. It’s a full-size, all touchscreen device equipped with powerful processors and support for the latest Quick Charge and Type-C connectivity.
Rumors regarding a spec-heavy Blackberry Argon have already started floating around as the device has surfaced again after vanishing for a while. The previously unrevealed BlackBerry handset, Argon, is apparently bound for global markets in October.
Design & Display that Resembles the Idol 4S
With a report published in VentureBeat and the BlackBerry webpage the upcoming phone boasts of a 5.5-inch AMOLED display (2560 x 1440 pixels) display with Quad HD resolution akin to the Blackberry Priv. The phone shall have a pixel density of around 534ppi (pixels per inch). Some of the specs that were mentioned on the Blackberry’ site include the size and dimensions of the device which are 153.9mm tall, 75.4mm wide and 7mm thin resembling the Idol 4S. Similar to the Blackberry DTEK50, the DTEK60 will also have a customizable and programmable BlackBerry Convenience key. It can be used to launch any apps or functions the way you want it to. It also aids to mute calls during an active phone call.
If the rumors are to be trusted, the smartphone shall flaunt some very subtle curvature right at the edges, analogous to the PRIV that appear exactly like the Alcatel smartphone.
Upping the Ante on Camera
The next important feature that most people look forward in a smartphone is the camera quality. Well, the good news is that the company is upping the ante on its camera this year. The Android phone, DTEK60 is listed to show a 21-megapixel sensor in its rear camera, and an 8-megapixel front shooter for selfies.
Hardware & Software
Well while scanning the specifications of the Argon, the spec sheet almost resembled other flagships out there. The device comes with a 4GB of RAM, 32GB storage and a 3,000mAh battery. You can also find a fingerprint sensor and Quick Charge 3.0 support in the device.
The phone runs one of the top-end versions of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 processor & is listed with a version of Google Android installed. The Type C port on the bottom edge is said to support full USB 2.0, which is more than usual 1.0 support seen on most phones. The mobile supports expandable storage up to an extra 2TB via microSD card.
Looking at the hardware specs, one can note that the upcoming Smartphone is basically a rebranded Alcatel Idol 4.

Although the BlackBerry Argon/DTEK60 will have a price to match its flagship specifications, the phone is said to be slightly cheaper than the Priv.
As per the rumors, the Smartphone may cost between £500-£600 in the UK. In India, we can expect the flagship to land in October.
