Amazon has recently unveiled the upgraded version of the Amazon Fire HD 8 tablet which is cheaper than last year’s Fire HD 8. The newly launched Fire HD 8 is offered with improved software and hardware specifications with Alexa voice-assistance onboard. The device is priced at $89 (approximately Rs. 6,000). The shipping of new Fire HD 8 will start from September 21.
The new Fire HD 8 offers the same 8-inch display with 1280×800 pixel resolution as of the previous generation. It has a faster processor with a speed of 1.3GHz. The new device is equipped with 1.5GB of RAM rather than just 1GB. Also, the internal storage of the device is doubled (16GB) in new Fire HD 8 which can be expanded up to 200GB via microSD cards.
The noteworthy feature of new Fire HD 8 will definitely be the Alexa voice-assistance. With Alexa, you can give commands such as report the weather, set an alarm with your voice and the Alexa will smartly respond to voice commands received from users.(Also check our list of best selling tablets.)
The tablet runs on Amazon’s own Android-based Fire OS. The custom-made OS incorporates a user interface that gives a magazine-like appearance and makes browsing and searching the content much easier.
Moreover, the device also packs a bigger 4750mAh battery which is claimed to deliver 12 hours of life on a charge. Amazon is claiming that the device is twice as durable as the iPad Mini 4. The device has stereo speakers which are custom-tuned with Dolby Audio for high-quality sound output.
The Fire HD 8 has Amazon Exclusive features such as ASAP, Second Screen, Amazon FreeTime, X-Ray, Family Library, Prime Video downloads, Word Runner, Blue Shade and more. The Screen Sharing feature in Fire HD 8 allows you to get Amazon expert assistance remotely during any feature on the screen.
The tablet is perfect for those who are thinking about buying a Kindle device but spending that much money just for an eBook reader is not convincing for them. The Amazon Fire HD 8 serves Kindle services along with ease of watching movies on the same device. And looking at the lowered price tag, the upgraded Fire HD 8 might receive a buzz in Indian tablet market.
The newly launched Fire HD 8 will compete with Apple’s iPad Mini 4 and Samsung’s Galaxy Tab A.
