Alcatel has recently unveiled its new smartphone called as the Alcatel Flash. The newly launched device is considered as the best photography smartphone thanks to its 4 cameras. It is the world’s first smartphone to come with dual front and rear camera setup.
It is quite interesting that Alcatel had previously launched a smartphone named as Alcatel Flash way back in 2014 and then released its successor, the Flash 2 in 2015. The new phone in its series should have been the Flash 3, but the company appears to have released an upgraded version of its Flash smartphone.
Coming to the specifications, the Alcatel Flash flaunt a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) display with 401ppi pixel density and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. It is powered by a MediaTek Helio X20 deca-core processor coupled with 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, and up to 128GB of expandable storage via microSD card.
On the camera front, the Alcatel Flash offers dual 13MP sensors at the rear panel with dual-tone flash, dual f/2.0 aperture, Dual 6P lens, and PDAF. Up front, there is a combination of 8MP and 5MP sensors with same specifications as of the rear module.

The Alcatel Flash offers connectivity options such as Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi Display, USB Type-C, Bluetooth, and USB OTG. It is unknown whether the 3.5mm headphone jack will be present on the device. The handset packs a 3100mAh battery which is non-removable in nature. The sensors on board include an accelerometer, fingerprint sensor, ambient light sensor, proximity, digital compass, and gyroscope. It measures dimensions at 152.6×75.4×8.7mm and weighs 155 grams.
We have seen smartphones with dual-camera modules at the rear panel. Even tech giant like Apple has featured a dual rear camera setup last year in its iPhone 7 Plus smartphone. Then, there are a few phones which offer dual-camera setup at the front such as the Vivo V5 Plus. By launching Alcatel Flash, the company has set a new trend for the upcoming mobiles to feature dual-camera setup both at front and back.
Now, how the consumers respond to the dual front and rear camera feature in a smartphone is to be seen in coming time. The price and availability of the new phone are yet to be announced by the company.
