Nokia mobiles are known for its one step ahead in technology. The company had tried to bring the latest and the most innovative technologies of that time on their devices. The company has made its comeback and launch Nokia 5, Nokia 3, Nokia 6 smartphones along with Nokia 3310 feature phone this year. But, the Finnish tech giant seems to be working on a technology to bring 5G network to India.
According to a report by TheEconomicTimes, Nokia has entered into a memorandum of understandings (MoUs) with the leading telecom companies of India, Airtel and BSNL. This year at the MWC 2017 conference, Nokia has announced that it will expand their cooperative technology partnership to develop the 5G technology standard and management of compatible devices.
Sanjay Malik, who is the India Market Head at Nokia told ET that the intention of these MoUs is towards the introduction of 5G tech here in India, the planning required for the same, to determine the target segment. All these factors will require completing the 5G strategies in India for telcos.

This was just an introductory phase for the 5G connectivity and the commercial roll out for the same is likely to take place during 2019-2020, he added.
Furthermore, BSNL’s Chairman Anupam Shrivastava had previously said to PTI that, after the success of 4G, the future of communication is 5G and IoT which will be helpful to draw the concept such as smart cities. The MoU will help the state-run telco to get a framework for the transition from the present network to the futuristic 5G network.
Nokia is said to be opening an experience centre in Bangalore to get a better understanding about the stakeholder necessities for 5G in India.
Before this, the report about Nokia’s work with BSNL to bring 5G technology in India excited the tech enthusiasts. This will allow the two companies to share the 5G technology concepts, innovations and new product launch in favour of 5G and IoT for the Indian market.
Recently at the Mobile World Congress 2017, the partnership between Reliance Jio and Samsung over the development of 5G connectivity in India was announced. It is noteworthy that Reliance Jio has its smartphone product lineup under is LYF brand.
