The Honor 7X features a large 5.93-inch full HD+ (1080×2160pixels) curved display along with an aspect ratio of 18:9. The phone brags minimal bezels on the sides and comes with a metal unibody design. Also, the top and bottom bezels are very thin.

The Honor 7X comes equipped with a HiSilicon Kirin 659 octa-core processor that packs four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 2.36GHz and four Cortex cores clocked at 1.7GHz. Moreover, the smartphone is accelerated by 4GB of RAM.

On the imaging front, the Honor 7X offers a dual rear camera setup containing 16MP and 2MP sensors. For selfies, there is an 8MP front shooter as well. The device gets the juice from a 3340mAh battery. It also has a dedicated fingerprint scanner on the rear panel. The connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth, GPS/GLONASS, and Wi-Fi.

The Honor 7X features a completely metal design that's attractive, although the back of the phone is flat, so it doesn't remain in the hand as comfortably as the Honor 6X did.The fingerprint sensor is located on the rear or the handset, and we found it easy to reach when holding the phone.

Overall, The Honor 7X is the first mid-range device to bring an 18:9 ratio display to the market, and that’s awesome considering the price point. A few problems with performance, and the absence of NFC, mean it’s not a must-have phone though.

To look at the Honor 7X it’s nice and useful, if not exactly jaw-dropping. The biggest selling point in terms of aesthetics is definitely the 82.9% screen-to-body ratio. Speaking of the screen, this is an LCD with a 1080p resolution filling 5.93”. If you’re looking for a device that really pushes pixels for the crispest and most beautiful experience possible, then obviously this may not be the phone for you.

Another area where the budget nature of the device starts to show is in the camera, though it’s not entirely a fail here either. On the plus side, the Honor 7X manages to keep up with yet another current trend by featuring dual lenses. The sound is also very acceptable and the Honor 7X sticks with the tried and tested headphone jack, an increasingly hard to come by feature these days. There’s only one speaker down the bottom of the device, The battery is 3,340 mAh, which doesn’t sound like an awful lot but as we know, optimizations can make all the difference. And I am happy to report that the Honor 7X performs admirably in this department, lasting a whole day even if you’re a power user.
