The year 2017 saw Xiaomi launch various smartphones and is now prepping for the launch of its next phone. Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 has been one of the most awaited smartphones that is expected to launch next year. According to reports, the company is expected to launch the phone in January 2018.
Recently, the rumours about the phone’s specifications have made an appearance online after the Chinese website Weibo leaked a few images of the phone. According to the leaks, Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is expected to feature a bezel-less display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. Furthermore, Redmi Note 5 is believed to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor and runs on the Android 7.0 Nougat operating system which might be updated to Android Oreo.
For the storage, Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is claimed to come with 2 variants. One with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage and the other with 4GB of RAM with 64GB of internal storage that can be further extended with a MicroSD card.
On the camera front, the phone is rumoured to sport a 12MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front camera for taking selfies. Additionally, the phone will be supported by a 4000 mAh battery and will also come with a dual SIM support.
The phone might also sports features like a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and standard sensors like its predecessors. The price for this phone is expected to stay in the 12,000 – 15,000 INR range. If rumours are to be believed Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 follows a similar design and aesthetics like the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4.
The recently launched Xiaomi Redmi 5A features a metal unibody and is priced at Rs. 4,999. The highlighting feature of this phone is the three card slot which allows the use of two SIM cards and one MicroSD simultaneously.
