Xiaomi recently unveiled its Redmi Note 4 smartphone in China featuring a 5.5-inch display, deca-core processor, and a fingerprint sensor. The smartphone is a successor of Redmi Note 3 which was released back in November 2015. The newly launched Redmi Note 4 looks quite similar to its predecessor in terms of specifications and looks except the inclusion of USB Type-C port in Redmi Note 4.
The smartphone is currently available in China on company’s online store and it will soon be available in India. The device comes in two variants based on memory- 2GB of RAM+16GB of internal storage is priced at CNY 899 (Roughly Rs. 9,000) while the other includes a 3GB of RAM+64GB of internal storage priced at CNY 1,199 (Roughly Rs. 12,000).
The smartphone comes with a full metal unibody design featuring a 5.5-inch Full HD display with 1080×1920 pixels resolution along with the popular curved 2.5D glass design. The device is equipped with MediaTek’s Helio X20 deca-core processor at 2.1GHz. The company has claimed that the processor in Redmi Note 4 improves performance by 62% and optimizes the power utilization by 30%. The smartphone is powered backed with a 4100mAh battery which is claimed to deliver heavy usage of up to 24 hours.
The Redmi Note 4 runs on Xiaomi’s own MIUI 8 operating system based on an Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. For the imaging purpose, the device is equipped with a 13MP primary rear camera and a 5MP selfie camera. On the back panel, there is a fingerprint scanner which can be also used for securing your online purchases and private files. The phone comes with hybrid SIM slot which allows users to use the device as a dual SIM smartphone or single SIM phone with a microSD card. But the drawback of any hybrid SIM Slot is that you can either use two SIMs or use one slot as SIM card slot and other as microSD card slot at a time.
Sensors on board include accelerometer, proximity, IR Port, Magnetic Hall Sensor, gyro, and ambient light sensor. Connectivity option features 4G with VoLTE, 3G, GPRS/EDGE, microUSB, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, and Gionass. The phone comes in Silver, Gold, and Grey color options.
