Xiaomi seems to be trying its luck in the smartwatch industry as well. The Chinese OEM has recently announced a new smartwatch which supposed to be a rival to Apple’s Watch-series. The company has named the smartwatch as Xiaomi Amazfit BIP. The key feature of the new wearable is its 45-days long battery life. The watch is priced at $99 (roughly Rs 6,400).
The Xiaomi Amazfit BIP comes with continuous GPS and LTE support. The battery efficiency of the device reduces the burden of frequent recharging. The other smartwatches available in the market hardly offers around 30 hours of battery life. Plus, it only weighs 31 grams which feels almost negligible on the wrist. It has a 1.28-inch transflective colour display with 2.5D Gorilla Glass protection on top. Xiaomi is aggressively venturing into new product line-ups. The company has recently launched its Xiaomi Mi Noise Cancelling in-ear headphones in India.
Xiaomi Amazfit BIP: Battery life
The Amazfit BIP smartwatch flaunts a polycarbonate body. The device has a 190mAh battery which the company claims is competent enough to offer up to 45-days battery life in regular running mode. Furthermore, the watch can deliver a maximum battery life of up to 4 months while on watch mode on a single charge. The GPS+ running mode can deliver battery life of up to 22 hours. The device takes 2.5 hours to charge completely.
Xiaomi Amazfit BIP: Fitness tracking features
The smartwatch has a built-inch GPS+ GLONASS module that is made on 28nm architecture by Sony. This is ideal for accurate location detection, speed calculation, route mapping, distance covered measurement, and pace tracking. Also, a real-time heart rate monitoring function is available on the device. It comes with an IP68 rating which ensures resistance against water and dust.
The smartwatch can automatically adjust the screen brightness according to the lighting situation. The watch has notification reminder function which notifies you of incoming calls or messages. It vibrates on your wrist, so can check your phone and take necessary actions. Moreover, the watch supports notifications from smartphone’s apps like Facebook, Whatsapp, etc.
The watch can easily be connected to a smartphone using Xiaomi MI Fit3.0 app. It can provide you access to personalise the settings and synchronise your activity data on the smartphone. Presently, the watch can provide data about your daily activities, distance, steps, sports data, speed, stride frequency and others. This will help you to analyse your fitness activities on daily basis.
