Update: The Sony Xperia XZs is launched at Rs 49,990 in India and it will be available for purchase via Flipkart, offline retail stores, and Sony Centre starting from April 11.
Sony had released its Xperia XZ smartphone last year and now the company is all set to launch its upgraded version called as the Sony Xperia XZs in India. The latest mobile is scheduled to get released at an event in New Delhi on Monday.
The Sony Xperia XZs was unveiled at MWC 2017 event by the Japanese company alongside the Xperia XA1, Xperia XA1 Ultra, and Xperia XZ Premium smartphones. The USP of the Xperia XZs is its 19-MP Motion Eye Camera at the rear which is competent to record super slow motion videos.
The Sony Xperia XZs is basically a toned down variant of its Xperia XZ smartphone. The device features a 5.2-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) Triluminos display. It is a single-SIM device running on Android 7.0 Nougat OS; however, the company is expected to release a dual-SIM variant in India. Sony has launched dual-SIM versions of its smartphones in Indian market.
Coming to the specifications, the Sony Xperia XZs is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor paired with Adreno 510 GPU, 4GB of RAM, 32GB/64GB of internal storage, and up to 256GB of external storage via microSD card slot.

On the camera department, the Sony Xperia XZs offers a 19-MP Motion Eye Camera. It has a 1/2.3-inch Exmor RS memory stacked sensor which supports predictive hybrid autofocus and super slow motion video recording at 960fps. The company claims that the camera is capable of capturing the movements which the human eye can’t able to see normally. Moreover, it captures astonishing precision and detail.
Up front, the Xperia XZs offers a 13MP selfie shooter with 22mm wide-angle lens and f/2.0 aperture. The device runs on Android 7.0 Nougat OS and packs a 2900mAh battery. The connectivity options on the device include Wi-Fi, USB Type-C, Bluetooth, NFC, GPS, and GLONASS.
The Sony Xperia XZs measures dimensions at 146x72x8.1mm and weighs 161 grams. The sensors onboard include an accelerometer, magnetometer, proximity, ambient light sensor, and gyroscope. The Sony Xperia XZs handset was launched in Warm Silver, Black, and Ice Blue colour in the global market, however, which variants will be offered in India is not known yet.
