A newer version of the Smartron t.book laptop is here in India. To recall, the laptop was launched two-years ago and the latest model is called as Smartron t.book Flex. The pricing for the device starts at Rs 42,990. The USP of the notebook is its detachable keyboard which turns the laptop into the 2-in-1 hybrid device. So, you can also use the Smartron t.book Flex as a standalone tablet. It will be available for purchase on leading online stores starting from May 13.
Smartron t.book Flex: Specifications, Design
Coming to the design, the latest t.book Flex model comes with magnesium and aluminium body. The laptop can be purchased in Orange/Grey or Black/Grey colour options. There is a fingerprint scanner offered on the device with support for a stylus. The ‘Flixstand’ component on this laptop offers a step-less hinge design which allows you to flex the device up to 150-degrees.
On the pricing front, the Smartron t.book Flex model with Core m3 chipset costs Rs 42,990, whereas the model with Core i5 chipset costs Rs 52,990. Furthermore, the t.book Flex provides a backlit keyboard with Bluetooth connectivity; so, you can even sit at a short distance away from your laptop. Again, the backlit keyboard will make typing easier even in low light environments.
The Smartron t.book Flex features a 12.2-inch WQXGA (2560×1600 pixels) IPS display with an aspect ratio of 16:10. The screen comes with multi-touch and stylus support. Moreover, the screen has a fingerprint-resistant oleophobic layer on it for avoiding smudges on its surface.
Under the chassis, there is either a 7th Generation Intel Core m3-7Y30 or an Intel Core i5-7Y54 processor as well. The chipset is clubbed with an integrated Intel HD Graphics 615, 4GB of LPDDR3 RAM, 128GB SSD internal storage, and an option to expand storage via SD card. The Smartron t.book Flex runs on Windows 10 operating system.
For photography, the laptop has a 5MP rear camera with autofocus and a 2MP front-facing camera. The connectivity features include two USB 3.0 ports, one USB Type-C Thunderbolt 3 port, a microSD card slot, magnetic pogo pin that connects external keyboard, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Moreover, it has Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, and Bluetooth connectivity.
