Samsung Galaxy S8 Launch Today: Here’s How to Watch Livestream

The South Korean tech giant, Samsung is all set to unveil its Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ smartphones at an event which is scheduled to go live on March 29, at 11am EST (8:30pm IST) in New York. The Samsung Galaxy S8 is one of the most eagerly awaited smartphone of the year due to its near-bezel less screen, Bixby digital assistant, and the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor.

The Samsung launch event will be happening today in New York and London simultaneously. The New York event will be taking place at 11am EDT at David Geffen Hall, Lincoln Center. In London, the event will start on 4pm BST at Here East. According to Indian Standard Time, the event will start at 8.30pm. The Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2017 event will be available for livestream via company site. Furthermore, users can download the official Unpacked 2017 app on Android and iOS which allow 360-degree live streaming option.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 is rumoured to feature a 5.8-inch QHD (1440×2560 pixels) Super AMOLED pressure sensitive display, whereas the Galaxy S8+ is expected to offer 6.2-inch display similar to Galaxy S8. The Samsung Galaxy S8 will come with a dual-edged curved with near bezel-less display and 18:9 aspect ratio. There is a rumour suggesting the display to be named as ‘Infinity Display’.

The upcoming Samsung mobiles will boast the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor; however, some markets (including India) the devices will pack the home-grown Exynos 8895 processor. Under the hood, the devices will offer 4GB of RAM, though it is believed that the company will offer 6GB RAM variants in South Korean and Chinese markets. It will runs on Android 7.0 Nougat OS with dual-SIM functionality.

On the camera front, the upcoming mobiles are expected to offer a 12MP dual pixel primary rear camera alongside an 8MP selfie shooter. The Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ will feature an IRIS scanner, IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, facial recognition, and 3000mAh and 3500mAh batteries respectively.

Coming to the pricing, the Samsung Galaxy S8 is expected to be priced at EUR 799 (roughly Rs 56,050), whereas the Galaxy S8+ smartphone is expected to cost EUR 899 (roughly Rs 63,500). In addition, the company is said to be releasing the new Gear VR which will cost EUR 129 (roughly Rs 9,000) and the new Gear 360 for a price of EUR 229 (roughly Rs 16,000).
