Back in 2015, Samsung launched Galaxy J2 which was the cheapest among the Galaxy J series but wasn’t very impressive, however, it made good sales in India. Now, Samsung galaxy J2 (2016) has entered the market and we can say that it is much better than its Predecessor.
Samsung galaxy J2 (2016) has got features which are never seen before. Let’s have a look
Design and Display:
It has got a plastic body which gives it a simple and not very expensive looks .However, the LED around the back camera compensates the dull look. This smartphone comes with a 5-inch AMOLED display with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution. Picture quality is really good and it has got good viewing angles. The Light sensor is not present thus you have to manually adjust the screen brightness. Also, the screen of this smartphone doesn’t seem to have any protection over it thus use of screen guard is recommended.
Performance:
This device is powered with a 32-bit quad-core which is clocked at 1.5GHz and Spreadtrum SC8830 chipset is been used along with Mali 400 MP GPU. RAM is 1.5GB and Android v6.0, Marshmallow is the platform on which this device is operated .The processing speed is good when it comes to apps and multitasking but this smartphone is definitely not built for gaming. Heavy games lag a lot while played on this phone.
With this smartphone, Samsung has come up with two new features, TST that is Turbo Speed Technology and Smart Glow.
-TST is a technology which results in super performance making this smartphone work 40% speedier when compared to other phones with more RAM. Galaxy J2 (2016) perform faster when native apps are used but when apps are downloaded from Google, TST fails. An amazing fact about TST is that it will also automatically close running apps that stay inactive for a longer time which will boost the memory.
Smart Glow is next-gen color LED notification system. On that rear, there is LED surrounding the camera and this LED is an impressive feature of this phone. The LED is been controlled by an app called “Smart Glow”. You can use this LED for Priority Alerts, Usage Alerts and Selfie Assist using smart glow app. Also, you can assign the glow to an individual contact caller too. Because of selfie assist option, you can take a perfect selfie from the rear camera too. The rear LED will light up when your face is in the center of the frame giving you an idea about frame coverage while taking the selfie.
Camera:
This smartphone comes with 8MP rear camera with LED flash and 3264 x 2448 Pixels image resolution. Front camera features 5MP which takes good selfies. Image quality is good even in low light.
Storage:
This device comes with integral 8GB memory which is expandable by the use of micrSD up to 32GB. Storage could have been given bigger.
Battery:
2500mAh Li-ion battery will keep this device running for 6 to 8 hours on talk time mode and up to 2 days while on standby mode with very low usage.
