Panasonic has announced its P77 smartphone in India for a price tag of Rs 6,990. The latest mobile from Panasonic comes with 4G VoLTE support. The newly launched smartphone belongs to the budget mobile phones segment which is highly dominated by Chinese companies like Xiaomi, Gionee, Lenovo to name a few. The Panasonic P77 is now available at Panasonic outlets across the country.
The new Panasonic P77 smartphone features a 5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) display. The device gets its acceleration from 1GHz quad-core processor paired with a 1GB of RAM and an 8GB of onboard storage. It is a dual-SIM mobile that supports 4G services on any of the SIM card slots at a time.
For the imaging purpose, the Panasonic P77 has an 8MP primary rear camera with LED flash setup. For selfies, it has a 2MP camera which can also be used for video calling over a 4G network. The device runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS and is powered by a 2000mAh battery. The P77 budget mobile phone from Panasonic comes in two color options- grey and white.
On the connectivity front, the P77 features 4G with VoLTE, dual-SIM card slots with 4G/3G and 2G network supports, GPS, Wi-Fi, and Wi-Fi Direct.
The budget mobile phones segment is growing rapidly with the demand for high-end features and specifications at the low-cost. Many smartphone makers are offering multiple budget mobile phones in the market while releasing barely single high-end or flagship device once in the year. And Panasonic also seems to be following the same trend. The newly launched Panasonic P77 is an India-specific budget mobile phone.
Panasonic is expecting a growth of 200 percent over the period last year. The company is expecting the huge sale of Rs 600 crore during the festive season in India. For this, the company has worked on the expansion of its distribution network for launching more phone models in India.
In addition, Panasonic is also looking forward to fully manufacture their smartphones in India in the next two years.
