New Panasonic Lumix GX9, Lumix ZS200 Mirrorless Cameras Launched

Panasonic has been one of the leading names in the digital camera industry. The company has made its name globally. Recently the company launched the Panasonic GH5S camera in the Indian markets. If that wasn’t exciting enough, the company has expanded its niche by launching the Mirrorless, interchangeable lens-supported Panasonic Lumix GX9 and superzoom Lumix ZS200 cameras.

The new digital cameras by Panasonic will hit the US markets in March this year. The Lumix GX9 camera is priced at $999 (roughly calculates to Rs. 64,070) with a 12-60mm f/3.5-5.6 kit lens and the Lumix ZS200 camera is priced at $799.99 (roughly calculates to Rs. 51,300).

Panasonic Lumix GX9 Camera: Specifications

Design-wise, the latest Lumix GX9 has followed the footsteps of the previously launched Panasonic Lumix GX8. However, the newer version offers better features and specifications as compared to its predecessor that had launched in 2016.

Although some of the advanced features like optical image stabilisation (OIS) and 4K video recording support are similar to the Lumix GX85, the Panasonic Lumix GX9 camera will be available at a much lower price. The Lumix GX9 camera features a 20.3-megapixel Live MOS image sensor but has dropped out on the low-pass filter which was powered by the Venus Engine.

The latest Panasonic GX9 camera is capable of recording 4K video at 24 and 30 frames per second. The camera can also capture videos in Full-HD with 1080 pixels up to 60 frames per second. Users can also activate the Contrast AF “Depth from Defocus” system which enables the face and eye detection feature.

Additionally, the camera is capable of supporting 6fps with continuous autofocus (AF) and can capture 9fps when the camera is switched to the single-shot AF mode. The camera also comes with an Auto Marking feature which can identify frames that are different from others. Likewise, the Post Focus Mode will allow users to change focus in existing shots.

Furthermore, users who want to enhance their filmmaking skills can make use of the Monochrome shooting mode in the camera. The camera also comes with a 3-inch 1.24M-dot touchscreen monitor and an electronic viewfinder with 2.67M-dot resolution. On the connectivity end, the Panasonic Lumix GX9 camera supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth along with a built-in Xenon flash.

Both the cameras are set to launch in the US next month. However, the price and the availability for other countries including India still has to be officially announced by Panasonic.
