Panasonic has brought two new Digital Single Lens Mirrorless (DSLM) cameras to the Indian market. The launch of these new cameras called Panasonic Lumix G7 and Panasonic Lumix G85 expands the product portfolio of the Lumix G series. What’s interesting about both these cameras is that they support 4K video recording and offer features like Post Focus and Dual Image Stabilization.
As for the price, both the camera’s come below Rs. 60,000 price range in India. Lumix G7 comes with a price tag of Rs. 53, 990. Buyers also have the option of purchasing a dual kit option of 14-42mm and 45-150mm available at Rs. 58,990. On the other hand, Panasonic Lumix G85 is priced at Rs. 72, 990. The cameras will soon be available for purchase across the country.
Panasonic Lumix G7
The Lumix G7 camera features a 16-megapixel Digital Live MOS sensor with no Low Pass filter, which can capture high-resolution images. Moreover, the camera supports 4K video recording in MP4 format with a resolution of 3840×2160 pixels at a speed of 30fps. Other than that, it is powered by a Venus Engine with a quad-core CPU which is claimed to deliver a high-speed signal in 8fps (AFS)/ 6fps (AFC).
Furthermore, the camera comes with a 3-inch free-angle rear monitor with 1040K-dot resolution. Apart from the regular front and rear dials, Panasonic Lumix G7 also sports a drive mode dial. This mode will allow users to activate the 4K photo mode instantly.
On the connectivity end, the camera supports Wi-Fi connectivity and features a 3.5mm microphone jack. Some of the other interesting features on the camera include creative controls with 22 filters, focus peaking and time-lapse shot/ stop motion animation.
Panasonic Lumix G85
Moving ahead to the Lumix G85 rugged-design Mirrorless camera, this comes with the front structure made of magnesium alloy. The camera is designed to be completely splash and dust proof. As for the specifications, the camera features a 16-megapixel Digital Live MOS sensor with no Low Pass filter, with a maximum sensitivity of ISO 25600.
Additionally, even this camera supports 4K video recording in MP4 format with a resolution of 2840×2160 pixels with shooting speeds at 30p/ 25p (50Hz), 30p (60Hz), or 24p. Lumix G85 is also powered by a Venus Engine and sports a five-axis Dual Image Stabiliser which activates a robust and effective blurring suppression.
Moreover, with the Light Composition feature under the 4K photo mode, the Lumix G85 camera can improve the lighting even in areas with low-light. Also, the Integrated Focus stacking feature allows users to change the depth of field after shooting. This feature is used by combining various pictures that have been captured using the Post Focus function.
Other features on the camera include Multiple Exposure, Time Lapse Shot/ Stop Motion Animation and RAW data development in camera. The camera comes with a 3-inch with a touch-control monitor with 1040K-dot resolution and an OLED LVF with a 2360K-dot resolution.
