Nokia is expected to launch six to seven Android mobiles in 2017 and the company has recently unveiled its Nokia 6 smartphone. The Nokia 6 handset has recorded 250,000 pre-orders on a Chinese e-commerce website in less than 24 hours of it being listed. The smartphone will be available for purchase from next week. While the Nokia 6 smartphone is still making a buzz, another Nokia mobile has come into the light. A couple of videos of the upcoming Nokia 8 smartphone have appeared online stating that the smartphone will come in two versions.
A YouTube channel named as TotalTech had posted a few videos claiming that the smartphones shown in their video were Nokia 8- one with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 processor and other with Snapdragon 821 processor. However, Qualcomm has issued a statement and clarified that the video posted by the YouTube channel was a fake.
The Nokia 8 moniker seems to be a logical name after the release of Nokia 6. Besides the fake videos, the specifications of the Nokia 8 smartphone are also surfacing on the internet. If the rumors are to be believed, the smartphone will come in two variants. The handset with Snapdragon 835 chipset will be expected to feature 6GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of internal storage with storage expansion option via microSD card slot. The device will offer a 24MP OIS+EIS primary rear camera with a 12MP front camera, and dual front-facing speakers. The device with Snapdragon 821 will come with a 4GB RAM. However, the camera specification of the device is not specified yet. The latter device is expected to be an affordable smartphone.
The Nokia 8 smartphone will feature an all-metal unibody design similar to the Nokia 6. The device is expected to eliminate front-mounted physical buttons. The optics on the device is expected to be from Carl Zeiss. The prototypes of the device present HRM wrote on them which could mean a Heart Rate Monitor. The smartphone is expected to get launched at an event in Barcelona probably on February 26. It is expected to be priced around $425 (roughly Rs 28,999).The release detail of Nokia 8 in India is not available at present.
