In 2004, Motorola introduced the sleek and thin Moto RAZR V3 which was a great success at that time. It was the slimmest phone that time. Motorola ended selling 130 million units becoming the best-selling flip phone in the world. Now, 12 years later, Lenovo mobiles, who owns Motorola mobiles now, has released teaser video saying that they will be relaunching the sleek and slim RAZR flip. The caption of youtube video says “Flip back to the RAZR days of yesteryear and get ready for the future”.
Sleek appearance and ultra-slim design, the RAZR was initially marketed as an exclusive fashion phone. Considering a great success then, Motorola has decided to relaunch it with some added new features. It is likely to run on android, but no more details about this phone are available yet.
Motorola rivals Samsung mobiles and LG mobiles still have a collection of flip phones under them and the gadgets still remain to be great selling phone in Japan. Thus, Motorola is coming with a fight back attitude using their older weapon with new features.
Smartphones sure have revolutionized from 2004 Moto RAZR time, but still flip phone attracts many people because of its cool profile. We have to wait until June 9 to know if Moto will trace the road again.
