The Lenovo-owned Motorola has recently unveiled its 4th generation of Moto E-series of smartphones. The E-series has been an entry-level smartphone series and the Moto E4 is not an exception. The Moto E4 is launched at a price of $129.99 (roughly Rs 8,400). The company has released its Moto E4 Plus alongside with a price tag of $179.99 (roughly Rs 11,600).

The Moto E4 and Moto E4 Plus share a similar set of specifications; however, the Moto E4 features a slightly larger display, battery and a different camera specification. It is a worth mentioning that the Moto C-series of smartphones has now grabbed the title of budget series from Moto E-series. To recall, the Moto C costs Rs 5,999 in India.

Moto E4 Launched: How it’s better than Moto E3?

In India, Motorola skipped the launch of its Moto E3 and instead, it launched Moto E3 Power. So, what does the new Moto E4 smartphone has to offer when compared with the Moto E3? We take a look:

Moto E4 Design and Specs

The Moto E4’s design resembles with Moto G5 series. The smartphone features a plastic body design with fingerprint embedded on its home button at the front. However, Moto E3 doesn’t have a fingerprint scanner. The handset has a 5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) and it runs on Android 7.1 Nougat OS. On the other hand, the Moto E3 features a 5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) display and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS.

Under the hood of Moto E4, there is a 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 quad-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, and option for external storage via microSD card. On the photography front, there is an 8MP primary rear camera with autofocus and f/2.2 aperture. Up front, it has a 5MP selfie snapper with f/2.2 aperture. The device boasts a 2800mAh battery.

Conversely, the Moto E3 smartphone is powered by a 1.0GHz MediaTek quad-core processor along with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. There is an option for storage expansion via microSD card up to 32GB.

For photography, there is an 8MP primary rear camera on the Moto E3. Also, it has a 5MP front selfie shooter. There is a 2800mAh battery on the device which is non-removable in nature. The Moto E3 is available in White and Black colour option, whereas the Moto E4 will be offered in Fine Gold and Licorice Black colour options.

These were the major differences between Moto E4 and Moto E3 smartphone. Undoubtedly, the new Moto E4 will be a much better choice if launched in India. However, when compared with Moto E3 Power, the Moto E4 doesn’t seem a game-changing device. The Moto E3 Power has a similar 5-inch display, but it supports a full-HD resolution. Also, it has bigger battery capacity.

Furthermore, the Moto E3 never reached to the Indian market, so the availability of the Moto E4 is doubtful at the moment.
