The Chinese OEM, Huawei is geared up for its event which is scheduled on November 3 in Germany, where the company is expected to launch its new flagship smartphones. According to the rumors, Huawei is about to introduce Mate 9 (codename Manhattan) at the upcoming event. While so, a new leak is now suggesting that a Mate 9 Pro variant will also get released alongside featuring a 5.9-inch curved display.

The leaked renders of the upcoming mobile, Huawei Mate 9 Pro (codenamed Long Island) has been shared by renowned leaker Evan Blass. Apparently, the design of the Huawei Mate 9 Pro looks quite similar to the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 smartphone. The Mate 9 Pro is expected to feature a 5.9-inch QHD (1440×192 pixels) display, while the Mate 9 is expected to come with full HD (1080×1920 pixels) display.

Looking at the screen resolution, the upcoming mobile seems to support Google’s Daydream VR. The resolution bumps up is taken for a better VR experience, as stretching the 1080p resolution on an almost 6-inch display could deliver a poor virtual reality experience.

Coming to the specifications, the Huawei Mate 9 Pro will feature a 5.9-inch QHD display powered by HiSilicon Kirin 960 SoC paired with 4GB of RAM and multiple internal storage options starting at 64GB and going up to 265GB. On the software front, the upcoming mobile is expected to run on Android 7.0 Nougat OS.

The key highlight of the Huawei Mate 9 Pro will surely be its Leica powered dual-camera setup at the rear panel. The camera functionality of the cameras will be the same as of the existing Huawei P9 flagship smartphone, but the Mate 9 Pro will feature a 20-megapixels sensor.

According to Blass, the top-end variant of Mate 9 Pro will be priced at a whopping $1,300 which translates approximately to Rs 93,600. On contrary, the Mate 9 smartphone is expected to start from $480, roughly Rs 32,100 for 64GB variant and it will go up to $700 (roughly Rs 47,000) for 256GB variant.
