HTC is expected to release a new smartphone in its U series, called as the HTC U. The HTC U smartphone is a long-rumoured device which is codenamed as HTC Ocean. The specifications and features of the handset have been leaked in past few weeks. Now in a recent development, the further details about the HTC U smartphone are leaked.
The recent specifications of the HTC U smartphone have been leaked by AndroidHeadlines which are in line with the past rumours of the device. It will be a dual-SIM mobile with Android 7.1 Nougat OS installed on it. The device will feature a 5.5-inch QHD (1440×2560 pixels) display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on top. Under its hood, there is a latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset coupled with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM.
The HTC U smartphone is expected to offer a 12MP Sony IMX362 sensor at the rear panel and a 16MP Sony IMX351 sensor at the front. Based on the camera specifications, the upcoming mobile is expected to be a selfie-focused smartphone. Furthermore, the handset is expected to come in either 64GB or 128GB of internal storage option.

The HTC U is also tipped to feature the Edge sensor. The device has sensors equipped on it which let the users to quickly open apps and execute the functions simply by swiping, tapping, or squeezing the metal edges. The sensors will be present on the bottom half where the user grips the device normally. Sliding the edge will provide more details like performing preset actions or opening an app with one hand. Also, accessing apps can be possible using short or long squeezes.
The latest leaks suggest that the HTC U will pack a 3000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0. The connectivity options on the device will include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and others.
Besides the Edge sensor, the upcoming HTC U will come with an amazing image and sound capturing capabilities. The device is expected to support real-time HDR scene detection which allows users to preview the final image even before one capture it and Smart Video Zoom feature.
The sound capture on the device will be enhanced with four microphones set up to record 3D audio or Hi-Res audio. The HTC U will have dual speakers on top and the bottom side for stereo sound output.
