Huawei’s Honor 8 Lite was recently spotted in press renders and now the smartphone has been officially launched in Europe. Fascinatingly, Huawei chose to introduce a new smartphone just a few weeks before the MWC 2017. It will be available for purchase at 269 Euros (roughly Rs 19,500) in Europe starting February 17. Conversely, the smartphone could get released in other markets sometime in March this year. It will be available in Black, Gold, Blue, and White colour options.
The Honor 8 Lite is a toned down version of the Honor 8 smartphone that was introduced last year. Specifications and features-wise, the Honor 8 Lite does not match the level of Honor 8, but the smartphone offers a 2.5D glass on top which provides a premium look and feel. The Honor 8 Lite misses out the dual-rear camera module which is the key highlight of Honor 8.
Coming to the specifications, the Honor 8 Lite smartphone features a 5.2-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) display. The smartphone will come equipped with Huawei’s in-house HiSilicon Kirin 950 octa-core processor coupled with 3GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, and up to 128GB of external storage via microSD card.
On the camera front, the Honor 8 Lite smartphone offers a 12MP primary rear camera with LED flash, autofocus, and f/2.2 aperture. Up front, there is an 8MP selfie snapper. The handset runs on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat OS powered by EMUI 5.0. The smartphone is juiced by a 3000mAh non-removable battery which the company claims to deliver over a day of backup.
The Honor 8 smartphone is available in India under the sub-Rs 30,000. It flaunts a 5.2-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) display wrapped under a 2.5D glass. The smartphone is powered by Kirin 950 octa-core processor paired with 4GB of RAM, 32GB of built-in storage and up to 256GB of external storage via microSD card.
For photography, the Honor 8 offers two 12MP sensors at the rear with a pixel size of 1.76-microns and f/2.2 aperture. The secondary front camera of the device features an 8MP sensor for selfies and video calling. The handset has a USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer. It is a big battery mobile with the capacity of 3000mAh with fast charging support. The Honor 8 runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS powered by Huawei’s EMUI 4.1.
