Asus FX503: Design and Features
The laptop has a 15.6-inch Full HD (1080p) display. The visual experience on the laptop is amazing and we found the colours are well saturated. The display offers refresh rate of 60Hz and it has a matte anti-glare finish. Thanks to the higher refresh rate, you can expect smoother graphics experience. Like mentioned before, the display is vivid yet bright enough to use it in the most lighting conditions of the day.
The gaming laptop has red coloured LED backlights. The keys are very soft and you can type on it very easily. While this being said, the feedback on these soft keys is not that great when you are playing games. The tactile feedback is the thing you expect on high-end gaming laptops (FX503 sans this feature). The touchpad is positioned very well on the device. It recognises multi-touch gesture as well.
There is a remarkable pair of speakers equipped with this laptop which provides very balanced audio experience. The overall sound quality of the speakers is great; however, for the better gaming experience, the use of headphones is ideal.

Under the chassis, there is a 2.8GHz Intel Core i7-7700HQ CPU which is paired with 8GB of RAM, 128GB of SSD and 1TB HDD storage. The laptop can handle almost everything that been thrown at it. The laptop can manage multiple applications running on it simultaneously without any issues. The SSD offered on the device is extremely fast and you can get lag-free game experience using it. The battery life on this notebook is not that impressive. It can hardly last for 3-4 hours on regular usage. For graphics-intensive and high-performance demanding apps, the laptop can deliver even less battery life. So, it will be better if you use the provided charger for optimal performance.

However, while playing games, the laptop gets extremely hot and you may notice some fan noise when the device performance reaches the maximum level.
The laptop comes pre-loaded with Windows 10 Home operating system. You will also get WPS Office, McAfee Live Security, and WinZip utility pre-loaded. There is an HD (720p) webcam offered on the laptop which is ideal for video calling.
Asus FX503: Gaming
The Asus FX503 does not offer top-notch hardware specifications; however, it is a good option for gaming. It packs Nvidia GTX 1050 graphics card with either 2GB or 4GB of RAM options. You can definitely play games like GTA V, Asphalt 8, Tomb Raider or any other high-demanding games on the laptop without facing any serious issue.
You will hardly notice frame drops on the device even at the max level. But, there are a few games which will test its graphics juice and will drop frames on the extreme graphics level. But at this price point, the Asus FX503 serves really well in the gaming department.
