Reliance Jio has become one of the popular brands of India. The company already sells smartphones under the LYF mobiles brand. The company has been creating a diversified product portfolio by offering Jio Mi-Fi devices named as JioFi, Gigabit wired broadband services via FTTH and also has plans to launch its DTH services. Now, a report from PhoneRadar suggested that the company is working on a Jio-branded laptop which will have 4G connectivity.
Reliance Jio is reportedly working on a laptop which will be manufactured by a leading manufacturer, Foxconn. The upcoming laptop is believed to be a look-alike of MacBook Air and it will have a 4G SIM card slot located on the left side of the laptop, the report added.
Apart from smartphones, Reliance is also rumoured to be working on a feature phone with 4G VoLTE support. Moreover, there are 4G Wi-Fi routers called as the JioLink, Jio Car Connect which is the onboard diagnostic device. The Jio laptop will be the latest addition in company’s portfolio.

Coming to the specifications of the upcoming Reliance Jio laptop, it is expected to come equipped with Intel Pentium quad-core processor paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The notebook will have a chiclet-style keyboard and an HD camera for video calling as well as photography.
The connectivity options on the laptop will include micro HDMI port, Bluetooth 4.0, microSD card slot, and two USB 3.0 ports. The details about the pricing and availability of the notebook are quite scarce at the moment. However, Jio is expected to offer the laptop aggressively to grab a larger market share. Looking at the popularity of other Jio products, the Jio notebook is likely to be one of the trending laptops of the time.
Presently, the smartphones under the LYF brand are actually the rebranded Chinese smartphones, however, the Jio 4G laptop is believed to be manufactured by Foxconn for Infocus. The notebook is said to be tested with Windows OS, however, the final product might come with Chrome OS installed on it.
The company might provide the Jio suite of services on its laptop. The Jio-branded apps are presently supported for the Android mobiles and iOS devices. Chrome OS also has the support for native Android apps to run on it. Hence, the users might get the Jio services suite experience on a larger screen.
Reliance Jio has not put a word on whether it is developing a 4G laptop as of now. So, take the specifications of the upcoming laptop with a pinch of salt.
