Moto G5 and G5 Plus Coming to India in March

Motorola has recently unveiled its Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus smartphones in Barcelona at the ongoing MWC 2017 event. The newly launched Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus smartphones feature a fresh design with metal chassis and a circular camera module at the rear. Lenovo is expected to release the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus sometime in March this year in India.

Update: Lenovo has confirmed the launch of Moto G5 Plus in India on March 15, via media invites. Though there is no clarity whether the company will launch the Moto G5 alongside.

The Moto G5 will be available at a starting price of EUR 199 (roughly Rs 14,000) for the 2GB RAM + 16GB of internal storage variant. On the other hand, the Moto G5 Plus will be available in three variants- 2GB RAM + 32GB of storage priced at $229 (roughly Rs 15,500), 3GB RAM + 32GB of storage model priced at Euro 279 (roughly Rs 19,800), and a 4GB RAM + 64GB storage model (price unknown).

Both devices have a fingerprint scanner embedded on the Home button at the front panel. The key highlight of the smartphones is its integrated Google Assistant, the feature which was Google Pixel mobiles-exclusive until now. Besides, the latest mobiles offer Motorola exclusive features like twist gesture, Moto Display, One Button Nav mode, and Actions. The devices run on Android 7.0 Nougat OS.

Coming to the specifications, the Moto G5 smartphone features a 5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) display. The handset is equipped with a 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor paired with 3GB of RAM, 16GB/32GB of internal storage, and external storage up to 128GB via microSD card. The device boasts a 2800mAh battery with fast charging support. For photography, it offers a 13MP rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, PDAF, and f/2.0 aperture. Also, it has a 5MP front camera for selfies and video calling.

On the other hand, the Moto G5 Plus features a 5.2-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) display. Under its hood, there is a 2GHz Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor coupled with 2GB/3GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage depending on the region.

On the camera front, the Moto G5 Plus offers the most advanced 12MP primary rear camera which comes with dual autofocus features, f/1.7 aperture, 4K video recording, and dual-LED flash. The Moto G5 Plus is claimed to deliver up to six hours of battery life with 15 minutes of charging thanks to its 3000mAh battery and TurboPower Charging tech.
