HTC mobiles set to announce something incredible in January. The Taiwanese OEM has started sending the press invitation along with a teaser image for an upcoming event on January 12. The teaser image mentions a giant ‘U’ which resembles with the ‘C’ in the HTC logo.
According to a ZDNet report, the invites sent to the members of the press has received a very cryptic image with no further clues about what is going to be announced on the event. The company simply stated that it will make a next big announcement on the event which is scheduled on January 12.
Although the teaser image doesn’t mention any hint to guess the upcoming mobile, but according to rumors, the company might announce the HTC X10 at the event. The HTC X10 will be the successor to the HTC X9 smartphone and it is rumored to get launched as soon as January.
The HTC X10 is expected to feature a 5.5-inch full HD (1080×1920 pixels) display covered by Gorilla Glass and all-metal body. The device is equipped with a 2GHz MediaTek Helio P10 octa-core processor paired with Mali T860 GPU, 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. For photography, there will be a 13MP primary rear camera with OIS alongside an 8MP selfie camera. The device is expected to price around $300 (roughly Rs 20,000).
Instead, HTC could announce its next flagship smartphone- the HTC 11. The upcoming mobile will keep the angular aluminum design of the HTC 10 as per the leaked images on Weibo.
The smartphone is expected to feature a 5.5-inch QHD (1440×2560 pixels) edge-to-edge display. The phone will offer a dual rear camera setup with 12MP lenses. It will boast Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC paired with 8GB of RAM, and up to 256GB of onboard storage. It will also expect to come with Quick Charge 4.0 support. The front camera will include an 8MP sensor. The device will be powered by a 3700mAh battery.
While we are considering a new HTC smartphone, there is a chance that it will launch something completely different- a smartwatch. The HTC smartwatch was leaked in October featuring a black plastic bezel and circular dial. It was codenamed as ‘Halfbreak’.
