When it comes to the Xiaomi mobiles, the internet always gets crowded with rumors and stories. And now, the company seems to be gearing up for a new smartphone called as the Xiaomi Meri. The device was been spotted on two benchmarking websites which provided the early view of the specifications and design of the upcoming mobile.
According to the GeekBench listing, the Xiaomi Meri could come equipped with an octa-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz paired with a 3GB RAM. The device has scored 758 points on the single-core test while it scored 3105 and 3043 points on the multi-core test. The upcoming mobile is expected to run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS.
On the other hand, the AnTuTu listing has revealed the other specs. Based on this, the Xiaomi Meri smartphone will feature a 5.5-inch full HD (1080×1920 pixels) display. The upcoming mobile may run Mali-T864 GPU, and if so, then the device may come equipped with a Rockchip SoC which comprises four Cortex-A53 accelerated at a speed of 2.2GHz and the other four Cortex A-53 accelerated at 1.4GHz.
On AnTuTu, the Xiaomi Meri has scored 63,581 points which indicate that the upcoming mobile could be a mid-range device. The smartphone could offer an internal storage of 64GB. Based on the leaked images spotted by AndroidPure, the display of the Xiaomi Meri appears to have a 2.5D glass on top. The volume and power buttons are placed on the sides of the device. The primary rear camera is situated on the top left side of the rear with a Xiaomi logo embedded at the bottom. The smartphone will feature a USB Type-C support.
While the rumors are surfacing for Xiaomi Meri, some reports suggested that the ‘Meri’ could be just a codename for the upcoming mobile Xiaomi Mi 5c. Before the launch of the Mi 5c, the photos of the alleged Xiaomi Meri smartphone have appeared on the benchmarks.
The Xiaomi Mi 5c is rumored to feature a similar set of specifications as of the Meri. The expected price for the alleged Xiaomi Mi 5c will be in between $180-$230 which roughly indicates Rs 11,900 to Rs 15,300. Until now, there is no reliable information about whether the Xiaomi Meri and Xiaomi Mi 5c will be the same or different devices.
